NTPC Farakka commemorated the 162nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, one of the most beloved and influential poets of all time, on 9th May 2023. The celebration was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Shri Sanjiv Kumar (CGM Farakka), Smt Maya Singh (President ULC), Shri Ramakanta Panda (HOP Farakka Designate), Smt. Niva Panda (President ULC Designate) and other dignitaries, including Shri Satheesh S sir GM (BE & EMG), Shri NK Sharma (GM Operations), Shri P V Kameshwar Rao (GM-maintenance), Shri P K Jena (GM-ADM), as well as representatives of unions and associations.
The event was organised by Employees' Welfare Association, NTPC Farakka. It commenced with the CGM Farakka paying tribute to Rabindranath Tagore by garlanding his statue and picture. The celebration was further elevated by mesmerizing performances of Rabindra Sangeet by township ladies, captivating the audience and rekindling the spirit of the great poet.
CGM Farakka addressed the attendees with Tagore's teachings, emphasizing the poet's enduring impact on literature and art.
Later, Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated in the evening where students showcased their talents through cultural performances, paying homage to the life and works of Tagore.
